Dear HCSS Community,Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit the borders of Turkey and Syria was devastating, killing thousands and injuring many more. A century of history has not seen an earthquake of this magnitude in this area. The destruction and loss of life have been devastating, and many families are now without proper shelter, warm clothing, and essential supplies to survive the harsh winter conditions. As a school community, we have the opportunity to make a difference and show our support to those in need. To that end, I am writing to ask for your support in raising emergency funds through the “Save the Children” organization and donating winter essentials such as tents, blankets, coats, jackets, power banks, flashlights, winter clothes, gloves, and thermal underwear in partnership with the “Peace Valley Foundation” for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.Your generosity will provide comfort and support to those who need it the most and make a real difference in their lives. The funds raised will be used to provide essential aid, including winter supplies, to the families affected by the disaster. If you are able to contribute, please send one or more of the following items in your donations to the school office by Friday, February 10:~Tents, Blankets~Diapers, baby wipes, Feminine pads, Toilet paper, Towels~Coats/Jackets(may be used in great condition), Winter Clothes, Gloves, Thermals~Power banks and Flashlightsor make monetary donations to “Save the Children” charity organization online. We will ensure that all contributions are delivered directly to the “Save the Children” organization and the Peace Valley Foundation for distribution to the affected families.Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by this disaster.
