UCONN CoGen Power Plant

On Thursday, April 4th, AP Environmental Science students embarked on an educational visit to a cogeneration power plant and a wastewater treatment facility at UCONN. During the tour, they explored the use of jet engines in cogeneration power generation, learning how this technology simultaneously produces electricity and thermal energy, which is then utilized for air conditioning and heating across the campus. The students also toured the wastewater treatment plant, gaining insights into the processes involved in purifying water. The day concluded with a meal at Blaze Pizza, followed by dessert at the Dairy Bar.
